# Bots, webhooks and integrations on Fluxer

Fluxer has bots, webhooks and a public API compatible with large parts of Discord's API, and slash commands and buttons for bots are on the 2026 roadmap.

Fluxer has bots, webhooks and a public API that's compatible with large parts of Discord's API, and you can learn [how to build a bot](https://docs.fluxer.com) in our developer docs.

## Does Fluxer have bots?

Yes. A bot belongs to an application, and each application has one bot account. Bots use the HTTP API and the real-time gateway, and they can join voice channels. Fluxer doesn't make its own music or recording bots, and the ones people use are made by the community.

## How do I add a bot to my community?

Open the bot's authorization link, choose the community and the permissions you want to give it, and confirm. You need "Manage community" in that community to add a bot.

## Will my Discord bot work on Fluxer?

Many Discord bots can be ported with small changes, because Fluxer is compatible with large parts of Discord's API, but each one has to [run as a Fluxer bot](https://fluxer.com/help/discord-bots-on-fluxer.md) with its own token.

## Does Fluxer have slash commands, buttons and other interactions for bots?

Not yet. They're item 6 on [Roadmap 2026](https://fluxer.com/blog/roadmap-2026.md), and for now bots use [prefix commands](https://fluxer.com/help/slash-commands.md).

## Do Discord webhook URLs work on Fluxer?

No, but a Fluxer webhook takes the same basic fields, and many tools work after you swap in a URL from the "Webhooks" tab of "Community settings". Fluxer webhooks also accept [Slack's incoming webhook format and GitHub's webhook events](https://fluxer.com/help/discord-bots-on-fluxer.md).

You can also follow an announcement channel with "Follow channel", and new announcements are then copied into a channel you choose.

## Can I automate my own account?

Yes. You can [automate your own account](https://fluxer.com/help/automate-my-account.md) as long as it isn't malicious, and [third-party and modified clients](https://fluxer.com/help/third-party-clients.md) are welcome on Fluxer too, with the same rules.

## Is there a bot directory?

There's no official bot directory, and Explore only lists communities. People in the community keep their own [lists of Fluxer bots](https://fluxer.com/help/community-resources.md), which aren't run by Fluxer.

## Does Fluxer connect to streaming or membership services?

Fluxer has no built-in integrations with streaming or membership services and no role syncing from them, but any service that can post to a [Discord-style or Slack-style webhook](https://fluxer.com/help/discord-bots-on-fluxer.md) can post messages to a channel on Fluxer, and GitHub can post your repository's events there too. There's no official bridge to other chat networks either, and [federation is planned](https://fluxer.com/help/federation.md) for connecting separate Fluxer instances to each other.

Your profile can also show a Bluesky account and a verified domain.

## What can a bot see in my community?

A bot sees what its roles let it see. It gets the messages in the channels it can view, it can look at older messages if it has permission to read message history, and in a voice channel it joins, it can hear and record what people say and share there. Community admins choose this when they add the bot and set its roles, and they can change it later.

Fluxer doesn't give bots your IP or email address, and an app you authorize only gets your email if you grant it the "email" permission. A bot that asks you to verify on a website sends you to its developer's site, which sees your IP address like any website.

Each bot is run by its developer, who can copy anything the bot can see ([section 4.1 of our privacy policy](https://fluxer.com/privacy.md)). You can stop community bots from DMing you by turning off "Allow direct messages from community bots" under "Friends & direct messages" in "Privacy" settings. If a bot collects data in a way our [community guidelines](https://fluxer.com/guidelines.md) don't allow, [report it](https://fluxer.com/help/report.md).

## Where can I find changes to the bot API?

Changes for bot developers are listed under "For bot developers" in our [patch notes](https://fluxer.com/blog.md), and bots can help with many of the [community tools](https://fluxer.com/help/community-tools.md) we describe.
