Quests are Discord's rewarded ads for playing games or watching videos. Discord's settings change which Quests you see, and Discord says you may still see Quests. As of November 5, 2026, Discord's settings let you stop Discord from personalizing Quests and hide some topics, and Discord's help article on sponsored content says that after you turn off personalization "you may still see sponsored content, like Quests, but they won't be personalized."[^sponsored-data] Discord's own Quests FAQ calls Quests "a rewarded ad format that allows players earn rewards for engaging with content and games".[^quests-faq] ## What are Quests? Discord's Quests FAQ, last edited in August 2026, says "Quests are a way for players to discover games and new content while earning rewards for playing, streaming, or watching videos on Discord." It also says that taking part in a Quest "is completely opt-in".[^quests-faq] Many Quests reward you with Orbs, a virtual reward that Discord tested in May 2025 and launched worldwide in July 2025.[^techcrunch2025][^orbs] Discord's press release says you can spend Orbs on "Nitro credits, avatar decorations, profile effects and badges, and more".[^orbs] You can read [what Discord tells advertisers about Quests](https://fluxer.com/help/is-discord-an-advertising-company.md). ## What kinds of Quests are there? Discord's page for advertisers lists these kinds of Quests as of November 5, 2026.[^ads] - Play Quests reward you for playing a game. - Discord describes Video Quest Reserve as "A guaranteed video ad format where users opt in to watch your content in exchange for an in-Discord reward." - Missions are interactive ads with "mini-games, interactive videos, or quizzes". - Hero is "A large-scale, animated ad unit that spans the top of the Quest home". In August 2026, Digiday reported on Play Quest+, which links your game account to Discord and rewards actions in the game.[^playquest] In September 2026, Discord added Video Quests made for mobile, where you get Orbs after watching for about 15 seconds.[^adsmanager] ## Are Quests personalized? Discord's Quests FAQ says "Quests are personalized based on a users' interests or can be shown contextually based on where you navigate within the app."[^quests-faq] Discord's help article on sponsored content says that to choose what to show you, it may use "data about you that we may receive from advertisers and third-party data providers".[^sponsored-data] On iOS, Discord's help article on App Tracking Transparency says "Discord uses tracking to enhance your experience with Quests and mobile features." It also says you keep "full access to Discord's core features" whether or not you allow tracking.[^att] ## Can I turn Quests off? Discord's help articles describe these settings for Quests. - Under "User Settings", "Data & Privacy" and "How Discord uses your data", you can turn off "Use data based on my Discord activity to personalize sponsored content" and "Use data from third party sources about me to personalize sponsored content".[^sponsored-data] - "Manage Sponsored Content" lets you choose topics you don't want to see, and Discord says "This setting doesn't turn off all Sponsored Content."[^manage-sponsored] - "Hide This" in a Quest's menu hides the promotion for that one Quest.[^quests-faq] Some client mods hide or remove Quests, and Discord's terms [forbid using "any unauthorized software designed to modify the services"](https://fluxer.com/help/discord-rust-app-client-mods.md). ## Are Quests different for teens? Discord's Quests FAQ, last edited in August 2026, says that people on Discord who are aged 13 to 17 "will only be able to complete three Quests per day."[^quests-faq] ## Does Fluxer have anything like Quests? fluxer.com shows no ads and has no advertising partnerships, as [section 3 of our privacy policy](https://fluxer.com/privacy.md) says, and you can read [what data Fluxer collects and why](https://fluxer.com/help/tracking.md).
