# How do I install Fluxer on Arch Linux?

Add Fluxer's signed pacman repository and install the fluxer package on Arch Linux, and pacman keeps Fluxer up to date with the rest of your system.

Add our signing key and our pacman repository, then install the `fluxer` package with the commands on the "Arch Linux" tab of the [Linux downloads](https://fluxer.com/download#linux). After that, pacman updates Fluxer together with the rest of your system, on x64 and arm64.

## What are the pacman commands for Fluxer?

Run these commands from the download page in a terminal. They add our signing key to the pacman keyring, add the `[fluxer]` repository to /etc/pacman.conf and install Fluxer.

```sh
sudo pacman-key --init
curl -fsSL -o /tmp/fluxer-archive-keyring.asc https://pkgs.fluxer.com/keys/fluxer-archive-keyring.asc
sudo pacman-key --add /tmp/fluxer-archive-keyring.asc
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 09D01339EE128925F75E675C855C5BDE34D205D2
sudo tee -a /etc/pacman.conf >/dev/null <<'REPO'
[fluxer]
SigLevel = Required TrustedOnly
Server = https://pkgs.fluxer.com/arch/$repo/os/$arch
REPO
sudo pacman -Syu fluxer
```

Copy `$repo` and `$arch` exactly as they are, with the dollar signs. They're pacman variables, and the quotes around `'REPO'` stop your shell from changing them.

## Why does pacman say "unknown trust" for Fluxer?

pacman refuses our repository with "unknown trust" until our signing key is in its keyring and signed locally. Run the four `pacman-key` and `curl` commands above, then try again. The `--lsign-key` command is the one that makes pacman trust the key.

## How does Fluxer update on Arch Linux?

New versions of Fluxer come through pacman when you run `sudo pacman -Syu`. If the app won't pick up an update, click "Restart Fluxer" in the tray menu.

## How do I install Fluxer Canary on Arch Linux?

The `fluxer-canary` package for [Fluxer Canary](https://fluxer.com/help/is-fluxer-canary-safe.md) is in the same repository, and you can install it next to the stable app. To install it, run `sudo pacman -Syu fluxer-canary`.

## Should I install Fluxer from the AUR?

We don't publish Fluxer to the AUR, and the [AUR packages aren't ours](https://fluxer.com/help/linux-packages.md). Our own pacman repository is the official way to install Fluxer on Arch Linux and the distributions based on it, and you get every update from it on the day we release it.

To remove Fluxer or start over, follow the steps to [reinstall Fluxer on Linux](https://fluxer.com/help/reinstall-fluxer-on-linux.md).
