# How do I install Fluxer on Fedora?

Add Fluxer's signed dnf repository and install the fluxer package on Fedora, RHEL, Rocky, Alma or CentOS Stream, and dnf keeps it up to date.

Add our dnf repository and install the `fluxer` package with the commands on the "Fedora and RHEL" tab of the [Linux downloads](https://fluxer.com/download#linux). After that, dnf keeps Fluxer up to date along with the rest of your system, on both x64 and arm64 computers.

## What are the dnf commands for Fluxer?

Open a terminal and run these commands, which are the same as on the download page. They add our repository to /etc/yum.repos.d and install Fluxer.

```sh
sudo curl -fsSL -o /etc/yum.repos.d/fluxer.repo https://pkgs.fluxer.com/rpm/fluxer.repo
sudo dnf install fluxer
```

The first time you install Fluxer, dnf asks you twice to import our signing key, once for the repository and once for the package. Both times, check that the fingerprint is `09D01339EE128925F75E675C855C5BDE34D205D2` before you accept.

## How do I install Fluxer on RHEL, Rocky Linux or AlmaLinux?

On RHEL, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux and CentOS Stream, run `sudo dnf install epel-release` first, because Fluxer needs libXScrnSaver, which isn't in their base repositories. Then run the same commands as on Fedora, which doesn't need this step.

## How does Fluxer update on Fedora?

New versions of Fluxer come through dnf, along with your other updates. dnf keeps the repository's list of packages for six hours, so a new version can take up to six hours to show up. To check sooner, run `sudo dnf --refresh upgrade`.

## Can I install the Fluxer .rpm file without the repository?

Yes. On the "Direct download" tab of the [Linux downloads](https://fluxer.com/download#linux), select "Intel x86_64" or "ARM64" and then "rpm" to get the file. An .rpm you install this way doesn't get updates, so add the repository with the commands above if you want to keep it up to date.

- [https://pkgs.fluxer.com/desktop/stable/linux/arm64/latest/rpm](https://pkgs.fluxer.com/desktop/stable/linux/arm64/latest/rpm)

You can [check that the file is genuine](https://fluxer.com/help/verify-fluxer-download.md) with its checksum.

## How do I install Fluxer Canary on Fedora?

[Fluxer Canary](https://fluxer.com/help/is-fluxer-canary-safe.md) has its own repository entry and the package `fluxer-canary`, and you can install it next to the stable app with these two commands.

```sh
sudo curl -fsSL -o /etc/yum.repos.d/fluxer-canary.repo https://pkgs.fluxer.com/rpm/fluxer-canary.repo
sudo dnf install fluxer-canary
```

To remove Fluxer or start over, follow the steps to [reinstall Fluxer on Linux](https://fluxer.com/help/reinstall-fluxer-on-linux.md).
