Discord was a private company in November 2026, and Bloomberg reported in January 2026 that it had filed confidentially for an IPO. Discord was a private company with no shares on any stock exchange on November 5, 2026, and Bloomberg reported in January 2026, citing people familiar with the matter, that it filed confidentially for an initial public offering (IPO).[^reuters] In April 2025, Discord's co-founder Jason Citron wrote that the new CEO would lead Discord "through our next chapter of growth and someday becoming a public company."[^torch] ## Has Discord filed for an IPO? When Yahoo Finance asked Citron in March 2025 about reports that Discord might go public, he said "on the journey of any company that has raised venture capital and has shareholders, obviously, these kinds of things are talked about".[^yahoo] Yahoo Finance reported that he said the team was focused on building the product and company. In April 2025, when Discord appointed its new CEO, GamesBeat asked Citron about going public, and he said "No specific plans. Humam Sakhnini has been Discord's CEO since April 2025.
