# Does Fluxer ask for ID or a face scan?

Fluxer never asks for an ID or a face scan, and no outside company checks your age for us. It asks for your date of birth, and in the UK and Brazil you can choose to unlock mature content with the age range Apple or Google already has for your account.

In the UK and Brazil, the law asks fluxer.com to do something extra before it shows content marked 18+, such as age-restricted channels and media in messages, and the app for iPhone, iPad and Android offers it as an extra choice.

Fluxer never asks for or accepts an ID or a face scan, and no outside company checks your age for us. We ask for your date of birth right after you create an account, and that's the only thing about your age you ever enter. [Section 11 of our privacy policy](https://fluxer.com/privacy.md) lists every kind of proof of age that we never ask for or accept from anyone.

In the UK and Brazil, the law says a date of birth you type in isn't enough for mature content. There, you can choose to [unlock it in the Fluxer apps](https://fluxer.com/help/unlock-mature-content.md) with the age range Apple or Google already has for your account, and you never give Fluxer a document or a photo for it.

## Will Fluxer ever ask for my ID or a face scan?

No, Fluxer won't ask for your ID or a face scan, even if you ask to change your date of birth or appeal a decision about your age. If you send us ID anyway, [we delete it and don't use it](https://fluxer.com/help/change-date-of-birth.md). Anyone who asks you for ID on Fluxer's behalf isn't us, so please report them to [support@fluxer.com](mailto:support@fluxer.com). If someone has reported you as under age, you [don't have to send us ID for that either](https://fluxer.com/help/reported-as-a-minor.md), and a person on our team looks at every one of these reports.

Where a law demands checks like these, we [restrict access in that region](https://fluxer.com/help/no-id-or-face-scans.md), and we never ask people there for an ID, a face scan or any other kind of document.

## Why does Fluxer ask for my date of birth?

The minimum age to use Fluxer differs from country to country, and you need to be 18 or older for age-restricted content. We compare your date of birth with the minimum age for your country, and [minimum age requirements](https://fluxer.com/help/minimum-age.md) lists the ages. You can't change your date of birth after sign-up, and [our support team can't change it for you](https://fluxer.com/help/change-date-of-birth.md) either.

## Why is Fluxer limited in some regions?

Some laws demand things we never do, such as ID uploads or face scans. ## Does phone verification have anything to do with age?

Phone verification isn't about age. When our spam rules pause messaging on accounts, a few of them may be asked to verify a phone number before they can send messages. If it happens to you, you can [ask our support team to verify you by hand](https://fluxer.com/help/phone-verification.md) instead.
