# Voice, video and screen sharing on Fluxer

Fluxer has voice and video calls with screen sharing on desktop, web and mobile, and a new voice system with end-to-end encrypted calls is on the roadmap.

Fluxer has voice and video calls in communities, direct messages and group chats, with screen sharing on the web, desktop and mobile apps. On our [new voice and video system](https://fluxer.com/blog/roadmap-2026.md), planned for 2026, each screen share will get its own connection.

## Can I share my screen with audio on Fluxer?

Yes. The desktop app can [share sound with your screen](https://fluxer.com/help/screen-share-audio.md) on Windows, macOS and Linux, and in the web app it depends on your browser and the operating system you use.

## What are the limits of screen sharing on Windows?

Windows draws a [yellow border around what you share](https://fluxer.com/help/windows-screen-share-yellow-border.md) on some versions, and the desktop app [can't capture some fullscreen games](https://fluxer.com/help/share-fullscreen-game-windows.md), which you can work around with OBS Studio. An earlier Windows desktop app had a game capture feature that some [antivirus software flagged](https://fluxer.com/help/antivirus-warnings.md), and current versions don't include that feature.

## How do I use push-to-talk on Linux with Wayland?

On Wayland, the desktop app sets up system-wide keybinds through GNOME, KDE Plasma or Hyprland, and your desktop then keeps those keys for Fluxer. For [one push-to-talk key that other apps can still use](https://fluxer.com/help/kde-push-to-talk.md), turn on "Use direct input device access".

## What quality can I stream at?

Free accounts and Plutonium have different resolution and frame rate limits, and the [Plutonium page](https://fluxer.com/plutonium) shows them. In peer-to-peer calls, where they're available, everyone can [stream at up to 4K and 60 fps](https://fluxer.com/help/screen-share-audio.md) for free, with or without Plutonium.

## What are peer-to-peer calls?

In a [peer-to-peer call](https://fluxer.com/help/peer-to-peer-calls.md), audio and video go directly between you and the others in the call, and none of it passes through Fluxer's servers. The other people in a peer-to-peer call can [see your IP address](https://fluxer.com/help/what-others-see.md), and people in a standard call can't. Peer-to-peer calls are an early preview that fluxer.com is turning on country by country, and the app asks before you start or join one unless you turned on "Join P2P calls without asking".

## Is Fluxer getting a new voice system?

Yes. We're replacing our voice and video software with [our own new voice system](https://fluxer.com/help/new-voice-system.md), planned for 2026, and every call on it will be end-to-end encrypted with no setting to turn it off. Calls on the voice system we use today aren't [end-to-end encrypted](https://fluxer.com/help/encryption.md).

## Which noise suppression should I use?

The default "Focused voice" mode under "Voice processing" uses "RNNoise", and "Custom" lets you pick [another noise suppression option](https://fluxer.com/help/noise-suppression.md) or none at all.

## Why do I keep getting disconnected from calls?

The app reconnects on its own and tells you about known incidents, and a VPN, a firewall or a network that limits calls can also [make calls drop](https://fluxer.com/help/call-disconnects.md). If calls keep dropping, please [report the problem](https://fluxer.com/help/report-a-voice-problem.md) with your voice diagnostics so we can look into it.

## Can I chat in a voice channel?

Yes. Every voice channel in a community has its own text chat, and you can open it with "Open chat" in the voice channel's menu. This works in the mobile apps too.

## Does Fluxer have a soundboard?

Not yet. A [soundboard is planned](https://fluxer.com/help/soundboard.md), but we don't have a date for it yet.

## Does Fluxer have a game overlay, stage channels or Activities?

No, and none of them is on the roadmap. You can vote for them or suggest them on [Fluxer Feedback](https://feedback.fluxer.com), where everyone can see what other people have asked for.

A voice channel can work much like a stage, because permissions decide who can speak and who can share their screen or camera, and moderators can mute, deafen and move people. A voice channel can also have a limit of up to 99 people. To watch something together, one person can share their screen in a voice channel or call.

## Can I use Fluxer on a console or cast a stream to my TV?

No. Fluxer has apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android and a web app, but no console app, and it can't cast a stream to a TV. Fluxer also has no whisper or sub-channels in voice. None of these is on the roadmap, but you can [suggest them](https://feedback.fluxer.com).

## Why is my camera mirrored?

In the web and desktop apps, only your own preview of your camera is mirrored, like looking in a mirror, and other people in the call see you the right way round.

To turn it off, switch off "Mirror camera" in "Voice & video" settings, in the camera preview before you turn your camera on, or in the camera menu during a call.
