# What does Fluxer get when I unlock mature content with an age range?

Only that you're 18 or older and when we got it. Never your date of birth, your exact age, a photo of your face or an ID.

> [!IMPORTANT] Always optional
> **Unlocking mature content only ever applies in the UK and Brazil, and it's always optional. Fluxer will never require it from you, anywhere.**
>
> Everywhere else, nothing asks you for an age range, and the date of birth you entered decides. In the UK and Brazil, the law asks fluxer.com to do something extra before it shows content marked 18+, such as age-restricted channels and media in messages, and the app for iPhone, iPad and Android offers it as an extra choice.
>
> If you don't want to do it, skip it, and everything else on Fluxer works the same, including all of your messages, calls and communities.
>
> If a VPN or proxy makes it look like you're in the UK or Brazil when you aren't, the same applies. It's optional, and skipping it only keeps content marked 18+ hidden. It never applies to self-hosted instances, which Fluxer doesn't run.

When you [unlock mature content](https://fluxer.com/help/unlock-mature-content.md) in the UK or Brazil with an age range, Fluxer keeps only that you're 18 or older and when we got it. We never get your date of birth, your exact age, a photo of your face, an ID or the name or email address on your Apple Account or Google Account. If the range says you're under 18, the app sends us nothing.

## What does the app for iPhone and iPad send?

For each press, the app creates a one-time App Attest key and signs the result with it so our servers can confirm it came from our app on a real Apple device. We delete that key as soon as we've checked the result, and we keep nothing else from App Attest.

## What does the app for Android send?

The app sends the result with a Play Integrity token, and we send that token to Google to confirm the request came from our app installed from Google Play on a real Android device. The token has a one-way code made from the request and doesn't tell Google your result, and Google handles the token under [Google's privacy policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).

The app also passes along Google Play's short code for how Google set the age on your account. Our servers only check that it's one of the values listed on [Google's page for app developers](https://developer.android.com/google/play/age-signals/understand-age-signals-responses), and they never use the code for anything or store it.

## Can I see or remove what Fluxer keeps?

It's included in your [data export](https://fluxer.com/help/data-export.md), and you can [remove it at any time](https://fluxer.com/help/unlock-mature-content.md) with "Remove age range" in the web app or the desktop app. Deleting your account also deletes it.
