# What happens when I block someone on Fluxer?

Fluxer doesn't tell the person you block. Neither of you can send the other a DM, and their messages in communities you share collapse into one row.

Fluxer doesn't tell the person you block. Neither of you can send the other a DM while the block is in place, and their mentions of you don't notify you.

## What happens when I block someone on Fluxer?

Fluxer doesn't tell the person you block. Blocking removes any friendship or pending friend request between you, and neither of you can send the other a DM while the block is in place. Their mentions of you don't notify you or show in your mentions.

In communities you share, their messages collapse into a row that says how many blocked messages there are, and you can click it to show them. The experimental "Hide messages from blocked users" setting in "Advanced" settings hides them completely.

Blocking someone doesn't remove them from a community, and messages that a bot or webhook posts for them aren't hidden. Getting around a block or continuing unwanted contact after being blocked is against [section 1 of our community guidelines](https://fluxer.com/guidelines.md).
