Not yet, but we're moving fluxer.com to our own hardware in Sweden. The company that runs Fluxer is Swedish, and until the move, most of the data on fluxer.com is stored in New Jersey in the United States, as section 6 of our privacy policy says.
Is Fluxer hosted in Europe?
Not today. Most account information, messages, communities and files on fluxer.com are hosted in the United States, and we're moving fluxer.com to our own hardware in a data center in Sweden. Crash and performance reports from the iOS and Android apps are the exception, and they're stored on servers we rent from Hetzner in Finland.
Some articles and reviews say Fluxer is hosted in Europe or in Sweden, but that isn't true yet. We update section 6 of our privacy policy first when any of this changes.
Is Fluxer hosted in Sweden?
Not yet, but we're moving fluxer.com from US hosting to our own hardware in Sweden, and we haven't set a date for the move yet. 31173 Services AB, a Swedish data center and network provider, supplies the space, power and network connection. fluxer.com is run by Fluxer Platform AB, a Swedish company, wherever the servers are.
Can the US government get my Fluxer data?
We never hand over your data just because a government asks. We disclose it for a valid legal request that passes our review under section 14 of our privacy policy, where we narrow or reject invalid or overbroad ones, and in a genuine emergency we can disclose it without telling you first to prevent death or serious physical harm.
A US order sent directly to us can't be enforced in Sweden, and we point US authorities to the treaty route through Sweden, where prosecutors and courts decide under Swedish law. Section 4.3 of our privacy policy lists the other cases where we disclose data, including our reports to NCMEC about confirmed child sexual abuse material.
Data hosted with a US provider can be subject to US orders to that provider, and our article on the CLOUD Act explains what that means while fluxer.com is still hosted in the US.
Where are Fluxer's voice servers?
fluxer.com has voice servers in regions around the world, so calls connect near the people in them. These call relays will stay in cloud locations around the world after the move to Sweden. Calls are encrypted in transit but not end-to-end encrypted yet.
