Fluxer started as Hampus Kraft's high school project between 2020 and 2022, and fluxer.com opened to everyone as a public beta in January 2026.
When was Fluxer created?
It took about six years from the first prototype to a public beta.
- From 2020 to 2022, Hampus built the first prototypes as a high school project.
- In July 2023, a few dozen testers got into a private alpha with text chat only.
- From 2023 to 2025, Hampus built Fluxer privately while studying at KTH.
- In summer 2025, Hampus registered Fluxer Platform AB.
- In September 2025, Hampus finished his thesis and went full-time on Fluxer.
- In October 2025, the first private beta started with around 30 testers.
- In January 2026, fluxer.com opened to everyone as a public beta.
When did Fluxer launch?
fluxer.com opened to everyone on January 2, 2026 and had only a few hundred accounts at first. Many people first heard of Fluxer in February 2026, when more than 100,000 accounts were created in the 16 days from February 9, 2026. fluxer.com still ran on a single server then, and the service struggled for a while until we fixed it.
Is Fluxer new?
fluxer.com has been open to everyone since January 2026, and the work behind it goes back to 2020. The Android app is still in public beta, and our TestFlight beta for iOS is on hold for now following a technical issue at Apple. We expect the iOS app to be on the App Store in early November 2026, and the full release on Google Play is planned for 2026.
