Fluxer is a free alternative to Discord for friends, groups and communities, with text chat, voice and video calls and screen sharing. Its code is open source under the AGPL, and anyone can run their own instance for free. fluxer.com, the official instance, is run by Fluxer Platform AB, an independent company that Hampus Kraft founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2025. Fluxer started as Hampus Kraft's high school project in 2020 and opened to everyone on fluxer.com in January 2026. On October 19, 2026, fluxer.com had more than 500,000 accounts. That number counts accounts, not active users.
Fluxer runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and the web, and on Android in a public beta. The official apps can also connect to instances that people host themselves. Optional federation is planned, and so is end-to-end encryption for calls, personal notes, DMs and group DMs. fluxer.com's stored data is moving to Fluxer's own hardware in Sweden.
