File uploads, link previews and invite links on Fluxer

How file uploads, file expiry, image sizes, link previews, invite links and saved media work on Fluxer, and what to check when something goes wrong.

Last updated on November 1, 2026

On fluxer.com, you can upload files up to 25 MB on a free account and 500 MB with Plutonium, and a new invite link expires after 7 days unless you change it.

What is the file upload limit on Fluxer?

On fluxer.com, each file can be up to 25 MB on a free account and 500 MB with Plutonium. Files above 500 MB aren't accepted on fluxer.com, with or without Plutonium.

Do files I upload expire?

On fluxer.com, attachments of 5 MB or smaller last about three years and larger files expire sooner, with or without Plutonium. Files you keep in saved media don't expire, and attachments expire so that our storage costs don't grow without limit.

Does Fluxer shrink my images?

No. Fluxer doesn't shrink your images, and what you see in chat is only a preview.

A community can turn off "Embed links" for a channel or a role, which hides previews there. You can also turn previews off for yourself with "Show embeds and preview website links" in "Chat" settings, and if previews are missing everywhere, check that this setting is on.

Fluxer's servers fetch the page to build a preview, so the site sees a request from Fluxer and never from your device, as our privacy policy says. Some sites block these requests or respond too slowly, and Fluxer gives up after a few seconds.

Each time you open the invite dialog, it starts with a link that expires after 7 days. For a link that never expires, click "Edit invite link", set "Expire after" to "Never" and click "Create new link", and the dialog then says "This invite link never expires."

A link that never expires still stops working once it's used its maximum number of times, if its channel is deleted or if someone with permission deletes it.

What is saved media?

Saved media is your own collection of images, videos and GIFs from messages. Use "Add to saved media" on a file to keep it and send it again later. A free account can save 50 items and a Plutonium account can save 500, and items in saved media don't expire.
