Plutonium is an optional subscription on fluxer.com that raises your own account's limits. Communities, voice, video and community emoji and stickers stay free without it. On a self-hosted instance, every account gets Plutonium's features by default.
Is Plutonium a paywall?
No. The core app is free, and communities, messages, voice and video calls, screen sharing and a community's own custom emoji and stickers work without Plutonium.
fluxer.com shows no ads, and Plutonium helps fund the cost of running fluxer.com and building the open source software, along with Operator Pass purchases and donations.
What does Plutonium add?
Plutonium raises limits such as message length, upload size, bookmarks, saved media and how many communities you can join. With Plutonium you can share your screen or camera at up to 4K and 60 fps. You also get an animated avatar and banner, a custom four-digit tag, a separate profile for each community, a subscriber badge and early access to new features, and you can use a community's emoji and stickers in other communities and in DMs.
The Plutonium page lists every limit and the current price in your currency, and Plutonium costs less on the web than in the Android app from Google Play. Visionary was a limited lifetime Plutonium offer, and it sold out in February 2026.
What stays free on Fluxer?
Every community gets an animated icon, an animated banner, a banner and an invite background for free, and its members can use its custom emoji and stickers, animated ones included. Custom themes and animated emoji in messages are free, and in peer-to-peer calls, where they're available, anyone can stream at up to 4K and 60 fps.
Equipping emoji and stickers from a community so you can keep them after you leave is planned for 2026, and we'd like to let everyone equip at least a few of them for free.
Can Plutonium upgrade my community?
No, Plutonium only changes your own account. Every community gets its animated icon, banner and invite background for free, and nothing you can buy upgrades it.
Can I give Plutonium as a gift?
Yes. You can buy Plutonium as a gift for a month or a year, and it never renews or charges anyone. Section 4.2 of our terms says what happens when a gift is refunded.
