Age-restricted content

You must be 18 or older to access age-restricted content. That includes NSFW channels in communities, communities marked as age-restricted and media our automated classifier flags as explicit. Section 5 of our privacy policy explains how the classifier works.

Some regions have extra rules for it, as Regional restrictions describes.

How your age is determined

Right after you create an account, before you can do anything else, Fluxer asks for your date of birth. That's all we ask for to check your age. We never accept ID.

We compare your date of birth with the minimum age for the country we estimate from your IP address, as section 3.2 of our privacy policy explains. If you meet the minimum but are under 18, your account starts with stricter privacy and safety settings. If you don't, it's signed out everywhere, its username is freed and it's deleted after 72 hours.

Reporting underage users

If you believe an account belongs to someone under the minimum age, you can report it. Our team reviews these reports, and if we have reason to believe the account holder doesn't meet the requirement, the account may be suspended. Section 8 of our community guidelines explains reporting, including how we keep your identity confidential.

Appealing a suspension

If we suspend your account because we think you're under the minimum age, you can appeal by emailing appeals@fluxer.com from your account's email. Tell us why you think we're wrong, but don't send ID. Section 6.2 of our terms explains appeals.

Accounts that do not meet the minimum age

If an account belongs to someone who is below the minimum age in their country, we schedule the account for deletion, as section 11 of our privacy policy explains.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe your child created an account without your consent or is under the minimum age, contact privacy@fluxer.com from the child's email address, or include enough proof that you are the child's parent or guardian.
