Why was my image blurred or blocked on Fluxer?

Fluxer's image classifier only applies your sensitive media settings and 18+ limits. It never punishes your account, and your settings decide what you see.

Fluxer's check for explicit images and videos only decides how they show up and where they can be sent, and a flag never punishes your account or files a report.

Why is an image blurred on Fluxer?

An image is blurred when a small image classifier on our servers flags it as likely explicit and your "Sensitive content" settings say to blur it. The classifier checks images and videos in messages and link previews only to decide how flagged media shows up and where it can be sent, as our privacy policy says, and people under 18 can't see flagged media.

Does the explicit image filter run in DMs?

The filter checks media in DMs only to apply your settings and the settings of the person you're messaging. If you or the person you're messaging has "Block" set for that kind of DM, explicit media is refused and the app tells you why it was refused. Otherwise flagged media is marked, and each person's own setting decides how it shows up for them.

The filter doesn't check media in channels or group DMs marked 18+, in age-restricted communities or in your notes, and it doesn't check avatars, emoji or stickers. Media that bots send is checked and can be blurred, but it's never refused.

Can I stop images being blurred?

Yes, you can change this if you're 18 or older. Open "User settings", go to "Privacy" and find "Sensitive content", where you can set "Direct messages from friends", "Direct messages from others" and "Messages in community channels" to "Show", "Blur" or "Block".

By default, flagged media is shown in DMs from friends, blocked in DMs from others and blurred in community channels. Channels marked 18+ always show it, but in group DMs that aren't marked 18+ it's always refused, whatever anyone's settings are. If you're under 18, flagged media stays restricted and you can't choose "Show".

Can a flagged image get my account in trouble?

No, a flag never punishes your account or files a report. It only changes how that file is shown, or whether you can send it where you tried to. The classifier can be wrong, for example on drawings, and a wrong flag only affects that one file.

Are 18+ communities allowed on Fluxer?

Yes. Consensual adult sexual content is allowed in communities and channels clearly marked 18+, and you have to be 18 or older to open them, as section 4 of our community guidelines says. Communities listed in Explore must be safe for everyone 13 and up, and age-restricted content stays locked in some regions on fluxer.com.

Why was my image refused in a community channel?

In a channel that isn't marked 18+, flagged media is refused when the community is listed in Explore, or when its explicit content filter is set to "Filter everyone", or to "Filter members without roles" and you have no roles. The app shows "Mature content not allowed" and suggests asking a moderator to update the channel if that's appropriate.
