You don't need a phone number to sign up or to use Fluxer, and texting a code is never the only way to lift a pause on messaging. If our spam rules pause messaging on your account, you may be asked to verify by texting a code from your phone, and you can reply to the email instead and ask our support team to verify you by hand without a phone number.
Do I need a phone number to use Fluxer?
No. You can sign up and send messages without a phone number. Fluxer has no SMS two-factor authentication, and self-hosted Fluxer has no phone verification.
Why was I asked to text a code to Fluxer?
If our spam rules pause messaging on your account, the email we send has a one-time code to text from your phone to our verification number. If texting the code doesn't work, reply to the email, and a person on our team will check the pause and lift it if it should be lifted.
Can I get verified without a phone?
Yes. Reply to the email we sent you about the pause on messaging and ask for manual verification, and our support team will verify you by hand without a phone number.
Why is messaging paused on my account?
Messaging is paused when our spam rules place limits on an account, and a person on our team can lift the pause at any time. You can also appeal it if you think it's a mistake.
What does Fluxer keep after phone verification?
We delete the text you send us, including your phone number, from our own systems within 24 hours, as section 7.2 of our privacy policy says, and your account records only that verification happened. To stop one phone number from lifting pauses on many accounts, we also keep a one-way record of the phone number, together with the account it verified, for about a month at most, and we never use it for anything else.
The texts you send go through a text messaging provider, as section 4.2 describes.
Is phone verification an age or ID check?
No. A text with a code doesn't tell us your age, and we use it only to lift the pause and to stop one number from lifting pauses on many accounts. Fluxer doesn't verify ages and never asks for or accepts ID, selfies or face scans from anyone.
