Fluxer doesn't verify anyone's age, and it never accepts ID. To work out your age, we only ask for your date of birth, right after you create an account. Section 11 of our privacy policy says we never ask for or accept ID documents, selfies, videos of your face, facial age estimation, biometric scans or any other document to check anyone's age.
Will Fluxer ever ask for my ID or a face scan?
No, Fluxer won't ask for your ID or a face scan, even if you ask to change your date of birth or appeal a decision about your age. If you send us ID anyway, we delete it and don't use it. Anyone who asks you for ID on Fluxer's behalf isn't us, so please report them to support@fluxer.com. If someone has reported you as under age, you don't have to send us ID for that either, and a person on our team looks at every one of these reports.
Where a law demands checks like these, we restrict access in that region, and we never ask people there for ID, a face scan or any other proof of age.
Why does Fluxer ask for my date of birth?
The minimum age to use Fluxer differs from country to country, and you need to be 18 or older for age-restricted content. We compare your date of birth with the minimum age for your country, and minimum age requirements lists the ages. You can't change your date of birth after sign-up, and our support team can't change it for you either.
What was the UK card check?
The only age check Fluxer ever offered was an optional zero-amount card check that let users in the UK unlock age-restricted content. It was processed like any other payment and never used any ID or face scan, and an in-app purchase counted as a check too.
We removed the card check because few people used it, and we have never tried any other kind of age verification on Fluxer. We have removed the cards that were saved only for this check from Stripe, as section 2.1 of our privacy policy says.
Why is Fluxer limited in some regions?
Some laws demand age checks that we don't do, such as ID uploads or face scans. Where one applies to Fluxer, we restrict access in that region, and we've written about how today's age verification laws treat chat apps like Fluxer. If you think a restriction has been applied to you by mistake, you can ask a person on our team to look at it.
Is phone verification an age check?
No, phone verification isn't about age. When our spam rules pause messaging on accounts, a few of them may be asked to verify a phone number before they can send messages. If it happens to you, you can ask our support team to verify you by hand instead.
