Yes. You're welcome to use a third-party Fluxer client or a modified version of the official apps, and you can build your own with the developer docs.
Are third-party clients allowed on Fluxer?
Yes. Nothing in our terms or community guidelines forbids an unofficial or modified client, and the Fluxer API is documented in public so anyone can build one. The official apps are open source under the AGPL, and you can also start from their code. On an instance someone else runs, that instance's admins set the rules.
Is it safe to use a third-party client?
A client is only as safe as the people who made it. When you sign in to one, it gets your token, which lets it act as you, and sees every message you can see. Only use clients from people you trust, and if you stop trusting one, sign it out from "Linked devices". Our official sources page lists the apps and packages that come from us, on every platform.
Can I get banned for using a modified client?
You won't get banned just for using one. The community guidelines apply the same way in every client. If a client sends spam, scrapes other people's data in bulk or gets around rate limits, bans or moderation, we can take action on your account because of it.
Can my client be featured on the download page?
If you think your client is great, email hampus@fluxer.com with a link to it. If it meets our standards, we may feature it on the download page for other people to find.
