Official Fluxer accounts and websites, and how to spot scams

Fluxer's official accounts are on our company information page, and we never ask for your password or payment details by email or message.

Some people pretend to be Fluxer to get your account or your money, but Fluxer never asks for your password or your payment details by email or in a message.

How do I know a message really comes from Fluxer?

In the app, messages from Fluxer come from the system account, which has a "System" tag next to its name. Bots have a "Bot" tag, and a bot that calls its message a Fluxer announcement isn't Fluxer. Official email comes from fluxer.com, fluxer.app or a subdomain of either, and account emails come from @m.fluxer.com.

Fluxer never asks for your password, your card details or any other credentials by email or in a message, as the email safety section of our company information page says. You buy Plutonium in "User settings", and in the Android app the purchase goes through Google Play. If someone gifts you Plutonium, it arrives as a fluxer.gift link.

Links to other sites show "You are about to leave Fluxer" before they open. Be careful with any other link that sells Plutonium or asks you to sign in on another site.

Someone says they work for Fluxer. How can I check?

People on the Fluxer team have a "Fluxer Staff" badge on their profile, and they won't ever ask you for your password or for any of your payment details.

When someone is reported, we don't tell them who reported them, apart from the exceptions in section 8 of our community guidelines. Fluxer never asks you to contact the person who reported you. If Fluxer takes action on your account, the notice comes from Fluxer itself, and you can appeal the decision as section 6.2 of our terms describes.

Which Fluxer social accounts are official?

Our company information page lists all of Fluxer's official accounts. Only the accounts listed on that page or linked from fluxer.com or fluxer.app are official.

Fluxer also uses fluxer.gg for invite links and fluxer.gift for gift links. Our security policy lists Fluxer's main domains, and you can check a domain against that list.

Fluxer's policies are only the pages on fluxer.com and fluxer.app, and a copy of them on any other site isn't ours. Our team's email addresses end in @fluxer.com, and our company information page lists them all with what each one is for.

Which Fluxer websites are official?

Fluxer's own websites are on the domains in our security policy and on fluxerstatus.com, our status page. Sites that list Fluxer communities, host instances or copy our pages are run by other people and aren't official Fluxer websites, even if they use our name.

Is it safe to sign in with Fluxer on another site?

A site that lets you sign in with your Fluxer account sends you to Fluxer to approve it, and it gets only the access you approve, never your password. Type your password only in the Fluxer apps or on fluxer.app or fluxer.com, and you can take a site's access away at any time with "Revoke access" under "Authorized apps" in "User settings".

Is r/FluxerApp official?

No. Fluxer doesn't run, endorse, moderate or take part in any subreddit, so r/FluxerApp and everything else about Fluxer on Reddit is unofficial. Our company information page says the same thing, and it also lists all of Fluxer's official accounts.

Is a site asking for donations in Fluxer's name real?

The only place to donate to Fluxer is our donation page. A site that copies Fluxer and asks for donations isn't affiliated with Fluxer, and the money doesn't go to us.

Which Fluxer apps and packages are official?

Our download page links all official downloads, including the Google Play beta, Flathub and GitHub. Some Linux packages are made by other people and aren't official. You can check that a download is genuine before you install it on Windows, macOS or Linux.

Our iOS app isn't in the App Store yet, and we expect it to be there in early November 2026. Its App Store listing will show our company, Fluxer Platform AB, as the developer, and a Fluxer app in the App Store from any other developer isn't ours.

Unofficial clients are fine to use on Fluxer, but only install ones you trust.

Fluxer's code is open source under the AGPL, and anyone may run, change and share it, including as their own fork. Anyone who offers a changed version to others over a network must share its source code with them under the same license. Instances we don't run have their own operators and rules, and we have no say in them.

Reporting impersonation

If someone pretends to be Fluxer or someone else, report them in the Fluxer app and choose "Pretending to be someone, or scamming people", then "Fluxer staff or support". A person on our team looks at every report and decides what happens.

Under "Friends & direct messages" in "Privacy" settings, you can choose who can send you friend requests and whether people and bots in your communities can send you DMs.
