Fluxer welcomes third-party and modified clients, themes and custom CSS, and automating your own account, as long as you don't use them to harm others or the service. The Fluxer API has public developer docs, and the apps are open source under the AGPL.
Are third-party clients allowed on Fluxer?
Yes. You can use a third-party Fluxer client or a modified version of the official apps, and you can build your own. Only use clients from people you trust, because a client you sign in with can use your account and see everything you can see. A client you build can also be featured on our download page if it meets our standards for featured clients.
Can I automate my own account?
Yes. Non-malicious automation of your own account with your user token is allowed, for example a script that tidies your DMs. For a bot that other people use, a bot account is the better fit, because it keeps your own user token private from them.
Are themes and custom CSS allowed?
Yes. Themes and custom CSS are built into the web and desktop apps for everyone, with or without Plutonium, and you can share them with other people.
What isn't allowed?
The community guidelines apply whichever client or script you use. Spam, raids, scraping other people's data in bulk and evading bans, rate limits or moderation aren't allowed, whether you do them by hand or with a tool, and we can take action on your account for them. Using a third-party client, mod or script isn't against our rules by itself.
