How do I post a time in everyone's time zone?

Fluxer's timestamp syntax shows a date and time in each reader's own time zone, language and time format.

Last updated on November 1, 2026

Type <t:1794679200:F> with your own Unix timestamp in place of the number, and everyone who reads it sees that moment in their own time zone and language.

How do I write a timestamp?

Write <t:, then the time as a Unix timestamp, then a colon and a style letter, and close it with >. A Unix timestamp is the number of seconds since midnight UTC on January 1, 1970. Many websites turn a date into one, and on macOS and Linux, typing date +%s in a terminal prints the current one for you to copy into your message.

For example, <t:1794679200:F> is 18:00 UTC on November 14, 2026. Someone in New York with the app in English (US) sees "Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM", and someone in Stockholm with Swedish sees "lördag 14 november 2026 kl. 19:00".

Which timestamp styles does Fluxer support?

The letter after the second colon picks the style, and without a letter, as in <t:1794679200>, you get the f style. The examples are for the same moment, as someone in New York with the app in English (US) sees it.

<t:1794679200:R> a relative time, such as "in 2 days" or "3 hours ago"

A relative time keeps counting while the message is on screen. In the web and desktop apps, hovering over any timestamp shows the full date and time.

Why does a timestamp show a 12-hour or 24-hour clock?

The clock follows each reader's settings, and the date order follows their app language. In the web and desktop apps, "Time format" in the "Language" settings lets you pick a 12-hour or 24-hour clock, or leave it on the setting that matches your app language.
