Fluxer apps: desktop, mobile and Linux packages

Fluxer runs in your browser, on Windows, macOS and Linux, and in beta on Android. The iOS app is coming to the App Store in early November 2026, and the apps can sign in to several accounts.

Last updated on November 2, 2026

You can use Fluxer in your web browser, in the desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux, and in the Android beta, and we expect the iOS app on the App Store in early November 2026. The download page lists every official build and where you can get it.

Does Fluxer have iOS and Android apps?

Yes. The iOS and Android apps are native apps built with Flutter, and they're open source on GitHub. The Android app is in public beta. Our TestFlight beta for iOS is on hold for now, and we expect Fluxer to be on the App Store in early November 2026. On Android you can get the app for free through the Google Play beta or the Android download page. If you buy Plutonium, it costs less on the web than in the Android app from Google Play.

When will the mobile apps be in the App Store and Google Play?

Our App Store release is almost ready for approval. As of November 2, 2026, we've addressed the last item from Apple's review, and we expect the Fluxer iOS app to be on the App Store in early November 2026, without TestFlight invites or limited slots. Until then, you won't find Fluxer by searching the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

The full release on Google Play is item 1 on our roadmap, planned for 2026. We're making the Android app more stable first, and we haven't set an exact date.

We also plan to publish the iOS app in alternative app stores in the EU, Japan and Brazil, and the Android app on F-Droid and Accrescent for the full release.

Why don't I get notifications from the Android build on GitHub?

There are two Android builds on GitHub and on the Android download page. The build for phones with Google Play services gets notifications through Google. The build for phones without them, such as phones running GrapheneOS, uses UnifiedPush, which you set up separately with a UnifiedPush distributor app of your choice. If you have the UnifiedPush build and no distributor app, notifications don't arrive at all.

Both builds install as the same app, so pick one and stay with it. The Google Play beta is signed with a different certificate from the GitHub builds, so you have to uninstall one before you install the other. If notifications still don't show up, try these steps.

Does Fluxer work on Intel Macs?

Yes. The macOS desktop app is one universal app for Intel and Apple silicon Macs with macOS 13 or later, and every Mac gets the same download.

Which Linux packages are official?

The builds on our download page, our own apt, dnf, pacman and Flatpak repositories and the Flathub app app.fluxer.Fluxer are official. Packages anywhere else, such as in the AUR, are made by other people, and we can't say how up to date they are.

Why does my antivirus flag Fluxer?

An earlier Windows desktop app had a game capture feature that some antivirus software flagged, and current versions don't include it. If your antivirus flagged an older version of Fluxer, install the current one from one of our official sources.

Can I use more than one account at once?

Yes. The desktop app and the iOS and Android apps can sign in to several accounts and switch between them, and the desktop app shows notifications from all of them.

Can the apps connect to a self-hosted instance?

Yes. The desktop app asks which instance you want when you first open it, and you can click "Add another instance" and enter its address. The iOS and Android apps connect too, and you can have accounts on fluxer.com and on self-hosted instances in one app.

In our mobile apps, notifications from a self-hosted instance go through our push relay only if you and the instance admin both turn it on, and the relay can't read them.

Are themes and custom CSS allowed?

Yes. Themes and custom CSS are built into the web and desktop apps for everyone, with or without Plutonium. In the iOS and Android apps you can change individual colors.

Accessibility

Fluxer works with screen readers and keyboard navigation, you can reduce motion, and you can tell us about any accessibility problem you run into.

Can Fluxer minimize to the tray or pop out windows?

Yes, the desktop app has "Show system tray icon", "Minimize to tray" and "Close to tray" in its settings. On Linux, you need to restart the app after you turn the tray icon on or off.

Calls, streams, videos and user profiles can open in their own window with "Pop out call", "Pop out stream", "Pop out video" and "Pop out user", but a text channel can't open in its own window yet. You can change keybinds under "Keybinds" in settings.
