What are peer-to-peer calls on Fluxer?

In a peer-to-peer call, your audio and video go directly between you and the other people in the call, and none of it passes through Fluxer's servers. The app asks before you join one unless you chose to always agree, because the people in the call can see each other's IP addresses. Peer-to-peer calls are an early preview that fluxer.com is turning on country by country, and on iOS you can't share your screen in a peer-to-peer call yet.

Do peer-to-peer calls show my IP address?

Only to the other people in a peer-to-peer call, and only once you agree. The app asks you before you start or join one, unless you turned on "Join P2P calls without asking" in your settings, and in a standard call the other people can't see your IP address.

How does a call become peer-to-peer?

In a direct message or a group chat that's small enough, starting a call asks "Start in P2P mode?", and you can pick "Start standard call" instead. In a community, someone can choose "Start P2P call" in the menu of an empty voice channel, and a voice channel with "P2P calls only" turned on makes every call in it peer-to-peer.

Everyone in a peer-to-peer call can stream at up to 4K and 60 fps for free, the same quality Plutonium gives in standard calls, whether or not they have Plutonium themselves.

Why didn't my call switch to peer-to-peer?

Fluxer never switches a call between peer-to-peer and standard on its own. A call is peer-to-peer only when someone starts it that way and the people who join agree.

If a direct connection to someone can't be made, the app shows "Couldn't connect to" with their name, and you can't hear or see each other until someone moves the call to a standard call. You decide whether to stay, leave or choose "Switch to standard call", and in a channel with "P2P calls only" turned on, switching isn't possible.
