No. Fluxer Canary is our own early-release version of the desktop app, where new changes show up before they come to the regular app. It's built from the same open source code as the regular app and signed the same way, in the name of Fluxer Platform AB.
What is Fluxer Canary?
Fluxer Canary is a separate desktop app that gets updates earlier than the regular Fluxer app, so it has newer changes and sometimes more bugs. It installs next to the regular app with its own name and icon, and you can download it from the Canary download page.
On Windows, every release of Fluxer Canary since August 10, 2026 is signed in the name of Fluxer Platform AB, like the regular app. On macOS, Fluxer Canary is notarized by Apple.
Why did my antivirus flag Fluxer Canary?
Some older Canary builds for Windows had a feature that hooked into games to capture them better when you shared your screen, and some antivirus software flags that method. We removed it on August 29, 2026, and no Canary release since then has it.
Is audioplugin_fluxer.dll a Fluxer file?
No. Fluxer's source code has no file called audioplugin_fluxer.dll, and neither Fluxer nor Fluxer Canary installs one, so a warning about that file is about something else.
How do I know my copy of Fluxer Canary is genuine?
Download it only from the Canary download page or the fluxerapp releases on GitHub. Before you install it, you can also check its signature and checksum.
