What is the Operator Pass?

An optional one-time purchase that supports Fluxer. It comes with a numbered certificate, the Operator badge and a spot on the Operators' wall.

The Operator Pass is an optional one-time purchase you can make to support Fluxer. You never need it to self-host Fluxer or to build bots with the API, and the pass doesn't unlock any feature in the app. Why does Fluxer sell the Operator Pass? explains why the pass exists, who it's for and why it costs what it does, in Hampus's own words.

What is the Operator Pass?

The pass comes with a numbered Operator certificate with the name you choose at checkout and the date and time you paid. You get it as a PDF, and it's yours to keep. Each page also has its own link that opens it in your browser and that you can share.

These things also come with the pass.

  • The Operator badge.
  • A spot on the Operators' wall.
  • The Operator role and the #operators channel in Fluxer Labs.
  • Invitations to help test new open source features before they're stable.
  • Your name in the yearly Operators list, if you're on the wall and choose to.

The Operator Pass page shows the current price and checkout, and the terms say exactly how the pass works. Questions about buying a pass and your certificate are in Buying the Operator Pass, and the wall and the badge have their own article.

Do I need the Operator Pass to self-host Fluxer?

No. The pass doesn't unlock or change anything in the Fluxer software. Self-hosting, the documentation and the API are free for everyone to use, with no license key or paid tier, and the official Fluxer apps can also connect to self-hosted instances.

Is the Operator Pass a donation?

No, the Operator Pass is a purchase. If you buy it as a consumer, you have the rights in section 7 of the Operator Pass terms, including when and how you can withdraw.

For legal and accounting reasons, your right to withdraw ends once your certificate is delivered. Buying the Operator Pass explains how that works.

If you'd like to give to Fluxer without buying anything, you can donate. Why buy a pass when I could donate? explains how giving a donation and buying a pass differ.

Where can I read the terms for the Operator Pass?

Every pass follows the Operator Pass terms. When you join the waitlist or buy a pass, we handle your details as the Operator Pass privacy notice says.
