Community tools: roles, onboarding, events and moderation

Which community tools this Discord alternative has today, which are planned, and what bots can do in the meantime.

Last updated on November 1, 2026

Some community tools are in Fluxer today, some are planned and some aren't planned. If you're bringing a community over, its channels and roles can come with it from Discord, and you can ask for anything missing on Fluxer Feedback, where others can vote.

None of the community tools in the app needs Plutonium, which only raises the limits on your own account, and nothing you can buy upgrades a community.

Does Fluxer have onboarding, auto roles or reaction roles?

Fluxer doesn't have them built in, and they aren't on Roadmap 2026. Bots can give roles to new members when someone joins or reacts to a message, and a community's own verification level decides which new members can send messages right after joining.

Does Fluxer have scheduled events?

Not yet. Scheduled events are planned but don't have a date, and until then, communities use announcement channels and bots to tell members about their events.

Does Fluxer have polls?

No, and polls aren't on the roadmap. You can ask for them on Fluxer Feedback.

What moderation tools does Fluxer have?

Moderators can ban, time out and kick members, and every community has an audit log. A community can also pause invites, set a verification level and filter explicit media. Bots can add more moderation tools on top of these, such as word filters and spam checks.

Does Fluxer have AutoMod?

No. Fluxer has no built-in AutoMod or word filters, and they aren't on the roadmap. Many communities use moderation bots for automated moderation.

Does Fluxer have category permissions?

Yes. You can set permissions on a category, and the channels in it can stay synced with the category's permissions until you give a channel its own overrides.

Does Fluxer have role icons or gradient role colors?

Yes. If you can manage roles, you can give a role an icon in its settings by uploading an image or picking an emoji, and the patch notes say which apps have them.

Each role still has one solid color, and Fluxer doesn't have gradients or role folders. You can vote for gradients on Fluxer Feedback if you'd like to see them added.

If some roles show separately in the member list, you can give them their own order there with "Custom hoist order", separate from the order that decides permissions.

Can I ban someone by user ID?

You can't do that in the app, where you ban someone from their menu in the member list, in a voice channel or on their profile. A bot with the "Ban members" permission can ban a user by ID through the API, even if that person isn't in the community.

What happens to my community if I delete my account or get banned?

Fluxer doesn't hand your community to someone else if you're banned or your account is deleted, and you can't delete your account while it owns a community. If you transfer it to someone you trust before you leave, the community keeps an owner.

Can members post as different characters?

There's no built-in feature for it, and it isn't on the roadmap. Bots can do it with webhooks, because a webhook message can have its own name and avatar. Blocking works on accounts, so blocking the person who writes those messages doesn't hide them.

Will creators be able to charge for access?

Not yet. Creator payments are planned for 2027 or later, and fans could then pay to unlock roles and exclusive content or buy event tickets in a creator's community.

Will my community show up in search engines?

No. Search engines can't find your community or any of your messages on fluxer.com. Public forums are planned as an experimental draft in 2026 (Roadmap 2026, item 5), and a forum channel will only show up on the web if the community makes it public when it creates the channel. A private forum channel can't become public later, and messages in regular chat channels, DMs and group DMs will never be published on the web.

How do people find my community?

People join through invite links, and on fluxer.com they can also find communities in Explore. You can apply to list your community in Explore if it meets the requirements. The official community for a project, organization, brand or creator can get verified, and some communities become partnered communities that we work with directly.
