Why is Plutonium more expensive in the mobile app?

Plutonium costs more on Google Play, and will on the App Store, because the stores take a fee. Buy it at fluxer.com in your browser to pay the lower web price.

Plutonium costs more in the Android app than on the web because Google takes a fee on purchases made through Google Play. Our TestFlight beta for iOS is on hold for now, and we expect the iOS app to be on the App Store in early November 2026, where Plutonium will cost more for the same reason. To pay the lower price, open fluxer.com in the browser on your phone or computer, sign in and buy Plutonium there.

Why is Plutonium more expensive in the mobile app?

When you buy Plutonium in the Android app, you pay Google through Google Play, and Google keeps part of each payment as its fee. Apple does the same with purchases in apps from the App Store. In most countries, Apple and Google require apps to sell digital subscriptions like Plutonium through their own billing systems.

The prices in the mobile apps are higher because of these fees, and people who buy Plutonium on the web or in the desktop app don't pay for them.

How do I get Plutonium cheaper?

Open fluxer.com in a web browser, such as Safari or Chrome on your phone or any browser on a computer, and sign in with the account you use in the app. Then open Plutonium in the web app and choose a monthly or yearly plan. You pay the web price with the payment methods available on the web, and our Plutonium page shows the current web prices in your currency. You also pay the web prices in the desktop app.

Does Plutonium I buy on the web work in the mobile app?

Yes. Plutonium is part of your Fluxer account, and you have it in the iOS and Android apps, the desktop app and the web app wherever you're signed in to that account.

Why doesn't the app tell me Plutonium is cheaper on the web?

In most countries, the App Store and Google Play rules don't let an app tell you that something costs less elsewhere or link you there. The US, the EU and a few other places allow it in some cases, under conditions that differ by store and by country. The App Store rules let us tell you here about other ways to buy outside the app.

How do I switch from Google Play to the web price?

Cancel Plutonium in your Google Play account. You keep Plutonium until the end of the period you've paid for, and then you can subscribe on the web. You can't start a web subscription while the one on Google Play is still running, and that keeps you from paying for both at once. If you subscribed recently, you can refund it yourself within the time section 4.2 of our terms gives and then subscribe on the web right away.

Is Plutonium more expensive in the iOS app?

You can't buy Plutonium in the iOS beta on TestFlight, which is on hold for now following a technical issue at Apple. We expect the iOS app to be on the App Store in early November 2026, and Plutonium in it will cost more than on the web for the same reason. You'll still be able to buy it at the web price at fluxer.com in Safari on your iPhone.

In alternative app stores on iPhone, where we also plan to publish the iOS app, Plutonium would cost about 5% more than on the web, to cover Apple's fee there.

Does the Android app from the download page cost more too?

It depends on which build you install. Our Android download page has two builds of the Android app. The build for phones without Google Play services sells Plutonium at the web price through the web checkout. The build for phones with Google Play services bills through Google Play at the higher store price, the same as the app from Google Play.

Are gifts and the Operator Pass cheaper on the web?

Plutonium gifts and the Operator Pass aren't sold through the App Store or Google Play, and no store fee is added to them. You can buy Plutonium gifts on the web and in the desktop app, and you can buy the Operator Pass on the Operator Pass page.
