Fluxer's roadmap is the Roadmap 2026 post on our blog, and the changes we make to the apps and the service are listed in the patch notes we publish there.
Where is Fluxer's roadmap?
Roadmap 2026 is our only roadmap, and we keep it up to date. It has eight items, and each one has a help article on where it stands today and what comes next.
- Mobile apps on the App Store and Google Play. We expect the iOS app on the App Store in early November 2026, while its TestFlight beta is on hold for now. The Android app is in public beta, and its full release on Google Play is planned for 2026. We plan to publish the apps in alternative iPhone app stores and on F-Droid and Accrescent.
- A new voice and video system with end-to-end encrypted calls is planned for 2026, and calls on the system Fluxer uses today aren't end-to-end encrypted.
- Federation isn't out yet, with an experimental draft planned for 2026 and a stable release in 2027, and it will always be optional for each instance.
- End-to-end encryption for notes, DMs and group DMs is planned as an experimental draft in 2026 and a stable release in 2027. Nothing on Fluxer is end-to-end encrypted today, and there will be no setting to turn it off once it's out.
- Threads and forums are in early beta for everyone, and public forums that anyone can read on the web are planned as an experimental draft in 2026.
- Slash commands, components and interactions for bots are planned for 2026, and until then, bots take commands as ordinary messages that start with a prefix.
- Equipping emoji and stickers from communities is planned for 2026, and today you can use a community's emoji and stickers while you're in it.
- Creator payments are planned for 2027 or later, and they aren't in the app yet.
Everything on the roadmap goes into the free and open source Fluxer software that fluxer.com runs, and self-hosted instances get every part of it too.
When will the feature I want arrive?
If a feature is on the roadmap, the list above says when we plan to release it. Features that aren't on the roadmap don't have a date yet, and that also goes for a soundboard and scheduled events, even though both of them are already planned.
You can request a feature or vote for one on Fluxer Feedback. To see what Fluxer has today, look at our articles on voice and video, messaging, community tools, bots and the apps.
Is Fluxer still in beta?
The Android app is in the Google Play beta, which anyone can join, and our TestFlight beta for iOS is on hold for now following a technical issue at Apple. We expect Fluxer to be on the App Store in early November 2026. A full release on the App Store and Google Play is the first item on the roadmap, and the Android app stays in public beta until then.
Do I need an invite code to join Fluxer?
