Fluxer is made by Fluxer Platform AB, a small independent Swedish company founded by Hampus Kraft, and it's funded by optional purchases and donations.
Is Fluxer a scam?
No. Fluxer is run by Fluxer Platform AB, a registered Swedish company that Hampus Kraft founded in Stockholm in 2025, and you can use fluxer.com for free, with no ads. Paying is optional, the source code is open source under the AGPL, and you can check whether Fluxer is legit or a scam through the company's registration yourself.
Why do some websites rate Fluxer as risky?
Some websites score other sites automatically from signals such as how new a site is, and a new service run from another country can get a low score from those alone.
Who makes and runs Fluxer?
fluxer.com is run by Fluxer Platform AB, a small independent Swedish company that Hampus Kraft founded in Stockholm in 2025. Fluxer started as his high school project in 2020, and over several years of private development, with a group of testers who tried each new build and reported what broke, it grew into a full Discord alternative.
Hampus studies Computer Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and he has worked on Fluxer full-time since he finished his bachelor's thesis in September 2025. He leads its development and builds the backend, web app and desktop app. Another developer works on the iOS and Android apps, and contributors help too.
Hampus wants to make self-hosting, federation and end-to-end encryption great. You can already self-host Fluxer for free, with no license key, and federation and end-to-end encryption are on our roadmap. Fluxer is compatible with large parts of Discord's API, and Fluxer webhooks also accept Slack's incoming webhook format.
Because Fluxer is run by a Swedish company, the GDPR covers your data on fluxer.com, and we're moving fluxer.com's stored data to our own hardware in Sweden.
The company's registration details, such as its organization number and address, are on our company information page, along with every way to contact us.
How is Fluxer funded?
fluxer.com is funded by Plutonium subscriptions, Operator Pass purchases and donations, and all three are optional. The funding pays for running fluxer.com, including its servers, and for building and improving the open source app that anyone can use.
What stays free on Fluxer?
An account on fluxer.com is free, and so are communities, voice and video calls and running your own instance. Plutonium is an optional subscription with higher limits for your fluxer.com account, such as bigger uploads, at the prices on the Plutonium page.
Does Fluxer have investors?
No. Fluxer is bootstrapped, with no venture capital and no outside investors, and the people who use and support it fund it through purchases and donations.
Fluxer doesn't run ads or sell, rent or license your messages or any other personal data or share it with anyone for their advertising, as sections 3 and 4 of our privacy policy say. Section 3.1 of our terms says we never use your content to train AI.
Paying and refunds
You can refund a recent Plutonium purchase paid through Stripe or Google Play yourself from the Plutonium page in "User settings", within the time limit in section 4.2 of our terms. Consumers in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Brazil can also withdraw from a Plutonium purchase within the deadline in section 4.3 of our terms.
What happens to my communities if Fluxer stops?
You can export your own account data at any time. We plan to let communities move from fluxer.com to their own instance later, and members' messages and memberships would only be copied over when each member agrees. Until then, communities are stored on fluxer.com's servers, and you can't move one to another instance yet.
Fluxer's code is open source under the AGPL, and anyone can run it on their own instance for free and keep it running, whatever happens to fluxer.com in the future.
How many people use Fluxer?
fluxer.com had more than 500,000 accounts on October 19, 2026.
